Wulbert enters transfer Portal
LONGTIME SLAMMERS 2B AND MANAGER WILL ENTER TRANSFER PORTAL THURSDAY
ARLINGTON HEIGHTS - Second baseman and manager Zach Wulbert has announced that he intends to enter the transfer portal following Thursday's game, per his Instagram account. Wulbert has been a part of the Slammers franchise for all four years of its existence.
“There's nothing quite like 16" softball season... Thank you to the Oakton Slammers and Slammer Nation for taking a chance on a guy from Batavia and letting me do it on the big stage for the last four years.”
In his career, Wulbert has started all 34 games he played in at second base. He is a career .400 hitter, and has hit in the second slot in the lineup for the majority of the last two seasons. This season, he is hitting .429/.467/.500, going 6-14 with a double and a walk.
Wulbert has also worn many other hats for the team that will be passed on, most notably as manager and general manager. He was the manager for all four wins in Slammers history. He will go for the team's fifth win in his 35th and final game this Thursday.
